Mohammad Amir for you, Virat Kohli may be a bad cricketer, but for me, Babar is a genius

Amir bhai, what's going on? Babar Azam is getting so much attention. So, Amir bhai is saying that an Indian journalist was trying to interview him about playing T20 in the UAE. The Indian media is all over there. One of them interviewed Mohammad Amir and tried to bring up the comparison between Virat Kohli and Babar Azam. Amir bhai straight up said, 'Look, man, Virat is a big player for you because he's from India. You're Indian, so for you, he's something special.'"

"Babar Azam is definitely a big player for me; he is a amazing batsman. Why? Because both of us belong to the same country. I get the whole 'prince' concept, but comparisons just don’t make sense. Remember when Amir said not long ago that whenever he hears comparisons between Kohli and Babar Azam, it just makes him laugh? And honestly, it’s funny—one has played over 100 Test matches while the other just recently completed 50. One has 300 runs..."

"Looks like he’s played around 100 ODIs. Yeah, he’s about to get ejected, with 123 runs. Oh, and he’s got 128 T20 internationals, while the other guy has 125. So, in T20 internationals, their stats are pretty much equal. Babar Azam is now ranked second in the world for runs, with a total of 4223. He’s just a bit behind that Sharma guy who has 4231. If Babar plays one or two more T20 innings, he’ll probably become the highest run-scorer in T20 internationals. No big deal if it’s just about those 22 runs."

If you look at it, the next guy is going to score around 13,000 runs, while Virat Kohli has over 11,000 runs and he's on track to hit 14,000 in ODI cricket. Right now, Kohli is just about to reach 6,000 runs. So, can we really compare? Seriously, if you want to talk about T20 cricket, that's a whole different ball game—it's all about entertainment. And funny enough, it was Amir who sat on TV and said that being a king means nothing; it's all the same whether you're at home or on the field, and he pointed that out about Babar Azam.

Babar Azam was saying something to the media like, "If a buffalo's eye bursts, it’ll be like a guy like me." And I was thinking, "What’s going on here? Are these two getting into some argument? I mean, are they really going to clash like those guys who serve curry?" I was confused about why there’s so much heat between them. It made sense if it was about that old drama with Karachi Kings. Then, later on, I found out that it was all just imaginary, as Amir bhai mentioned while passing by.

One thing that struck me was that all this media rating stuff is pretty superficial. It's obvious that when you go on TV, you have to say what the channel wants you to say. And of course, if you're getting paid, you have to play along, right? Like a puppet. Then there’s this incident with Aamir recently when he called Babar Azam after he got dropped from the Test team. Aamir basically told him to forget about it, no worries—just go work on your batting and improve your temperament. Totally solid advice.

"Look, nobody can stop you when you're back as a batsman, like Amir said to Babar Azam. You know, that friendship between Amir Bhai and Babar Azam is back, and everything's good. Babar Azam played in the World T20 with this same Mohammad Amir, who also delivered some amazing performances. So, everything's good to go. Amir is right; Virat Kohli is a favorite for India, and he's fantastic. Babar Azam is a favorite for Pakistan, and he's great too. But keep your favorite to yourself, alright? Just don’t compare them."

You won't get anywhere with this comparison; it just doesn't work at any level. One player has way more cricket exposure and experience, while the other is on the same path but still behind. It's like comparing two coaches: one leaves half an hour earlier than the other, and now you're trying to say they should compete. It's just not the same thing.

"That dude, speed up! If you keep going like this, you're gonna end up in a ditch. Your coach is gonna lose it. You're too busy trying to match him, and we're running super late! Hurry up, uncle, somehow get us there. Otherwise, you're gonna end up in a whole different world, man. So, don’t even compare. Aamir bhai was spot on. Virat Kohli is a favorite for Indians, no doubt, and Babar Azam is the favorite for Pakistanis. That's just how it is; it's all about individual preference, and I get that.
